The principles
- Your data stays on your devices. Trips and location history live in on-device storage and sync through your own iCloud account, which we cannot access.
- No accounts, and your travel data never reaches us. We can't sell what we never collected. Our server receives only subscription records, ad attribution tied to a random install ID, and feedback you choose to send.
- Low-power tracking, or none at all. Automatic tracking takes a few low-precision readings a day, not a continuous GPS trail. Rather not share your location? Log a trip by hand in about 5 seconds.
- Honest pricing. £29.99/year, with a real free tier and no surprise charges.
- Source-grounded rules. Every rule cites the statute, regulation, or treaty it comes from. See the methodology page.
Who builds it
Tax Days is published by Parra, an independent software company. We're a small team focused on building useful, privacy-respecting consumer software. Tax Days is one of several apps we publish, others address related problems for individuals operating across borders.
How we make money
Subscription revenue from Pro users (£29.99/year or £4.99/month). That's it. We don't take advertising, don't sell anonymized data, and don't run a freemium-with-feature-locks game beyond a sensible free tier. The math is simple: enough Pro subscribers cover the engineering and rule-update work; the app keeps getting better.
What Tax Days is not
Tax Days is general information and a tracking tool. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified tax professional. We don't prepare returns, give legal opinions, or guarantee specific audit outcomes. We are explicit about this on the methodology page and in the app's own disclaimers.
